The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Rao Bahadur Y. Mahabaleswarappa Engineering College (RYMEC), Ballari, organized a One-Day Invited Talk on “Academic and Administrative Audit” on 9th June 2026 at 11:00 AM in the CSE Seminar Hall. The programme was organized with the objective of creating awareness among faculty and staff about the importance of Academic and Administrative Audit (AAA) as an effective mechanism for ensuring quality, accountability and continuous improvement in higher education.
The programme was inaugurated by Sri. Janekunte Basavaraj, Vice President, V.V. Sangha, Ballari and Chairman, RYMEC, Ballari, in the presence of Dr. Aravind Patel, Secretary, V.V. Sangha, Ballari; Sri. Prabhu Swamy S. M., Governing Body Member; and Sri. Badada Prakash, Governing Body Member, RYMEC. The Principal, Vice Principal, Heads of Departments, faculty members, staff and students attended the programme.
The invited talk was delivered by Dr. Thipperudrappa J, Professor, VSK, University Ballari. During his presentation, he explained the significance, objectives and methodology of Academic and Administrative Audit and highlighted its role in strengthening institutional quality. He discussed important aspects such as academic planning, curriculum implementation, teaching-learning processes, student performance, faculty contributions, maintenance of academic records, departmental documentation, administrative practices and internal quality assurance mechanisms.
The resource person particularly emphasized the importance of systematic and evidence-based documentation, periodic review of academic activities, identification of gaps and implementation of corrective measures. He also discussed the relevance of Academic and Administrative Audit in improving institutional preparedness for NAAC and NBA accreditation and encouraged departments to adopt a culture of continuous quality improvement rather than treating audits merely as compliance exercises.
The session was interactive, and the participants discussed various issues related to academic monitoring, documentation, accreditation requirements and departmental quality practices. The resource person clarified the queries raised by the participants and provided practical suggestions for strengthening academic and administrative systems.
Overall, the programme was informative and beneficial, providing valuable insights into the effective implementation of Academic and Administrative Audit. The event contributed towards enhancing awareness among faculty and staff regarding quality assurance practices and reinforced the institution’s commitment to academic excellence, effective governance, accountability and continuous institutional improvement.
