ABOUT DEPARTMENT

P.G. Course, M.Tech (Production Management) started in the year 2012, with an intake of 18, affiliated to VTU Belagavi. M.Tech in Production Management focuses more on Mechanical, Industrial Production & Engineering and Management areas to Enhance the skills of B.E graduates to a next level by inducing both technical and management skills, so as to develop sound and good technical leaders to match for the present Industrial / corporate requirements.

Today in customer driven market and cut-throat completion everywhere, it becomes difficult to sustain and survive in this competitive world, unless you are highly competitive in business. The knowledge of Production Management will help to attain it. Specialization in Production Management is very essential and plays a vital role in all sectors.

The main objective of production management is to produce products and services of right quality, right quantity, at the right time and at right cost, with optimum utilization of resources. Today, Engineers uses knowledge of Production Management everywhere in all sectors and industries and use it as a universal tool to excel in this competitive world of business.

Welcome to Post graduation Program M.Tech in Production Management, the most preferred M.Tech program by Mechanical and Industrial Production Engineering graduates. The program has very wide scope in all sectors like Manufacturing, Management, Service sectors and many more.

The Program M.Tech Production Management has started in 2012 under department of Mechanical Engineering. And proud to mention the Program has secured three VTU ranks and maintained very high percentage of passing every year.

The program has well experienced faculties and fully equipped with state of art infrastructure, which fulfills the requirements of academics and Industries. The program is supported with research centre which helps the students to undertake in-house research work and projects.

The department has ties ups and MOU’s with reputed industries, where students will undergo long term Internship program, which will enhance their learning skills and helps them to get good placements.

Apart, from regular academic curriculum as a part of content beyond syllabus department organizes seminars/Technical talks and workshop on emerging technologies by the domain experts, which will enhance our student’s skills and placements.

We also train and prepare our students to publish technical papers in reputed referred National and International journals and encourage them to carryout research work at our research center.
